Hip Hop Moneymakers for 2008

Forbes just released it's big money makers for 2008.

Who topped the list? Vitamin Water owner, 50 Cent - which I find so amusing since he and Kanye West both released albums on the same day and 50 Cent said that he would retire if Kanye sold more albums. Well, Kanye did sell more albums. ALOT more albums . . . and 50's not retired yet. BUT, Kanye did take the number #4 spot on this list. So I guess 50 is the winner in that battle? Oh well, I like Kanye better.

Next in line was Jay Z, which let's face it. He makes lot's of money and his money just keeps making money for him.

But I guess, the most surprising thing to me was, how TUPAC SHAKUR made 15 million dollars! And he's dead! I'm ALIVE, and I can't seem to make that kind of money.

Is there something that I'm doing wrong????

Check out the list on Forbes website.

CONSPIRACY theory!

If you don't know who Bruce Ivins is, I suggest googling him.
He was a 70 something year old scientist who recently 'commited suicide' b/c he was going to be charged with the anthrax attacks from years ago.

I suggest reading up on him and making your own informed decision about him.

As for me, I strongly believe that he was framed and he's the fall guy. I think that the government isn't exactly being forthright with us.But that's my own personal conspiracy theory. There's just not enough proof for me, that this person was the sole entity behind the operation that the FBI say's he was.

But you do your own research and judge for yourself.

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L

First and foremost, I feel that I need to get this out of the way.

I AM A HUGE ANGELINA JOLIE FAN! There! I've said it! So yes, I am BIASED to her.

I think that she is one of the most beautiful creatures walking the earth and I respect EVERYTHING that she stands for. She can be a humanitarian while mothering 6 kids (granted, it's with some help from nannies, but still!).

I love her and yes, if I could marry her, I would. So any post regarding her and her family, will always be positive! LOVESHER!

fact or fiction

I just bought this book on Monday 8/18/08 from Goodwill for $1.00 and I finished reading it by Tuesday 8/19/08. It's a fictional book where the main character is an anchorwoman for a major TV network, kinda like Katie Couric. Anyways, it talks about the behind-the-scenes at the network and what news actually reaches the masses, and what stays 'covered', for the greater good.

What I really liked about this book, even though it was fictional, was how it related so perfectly to our current national state. It talked about a man running for presidency (and much of America wanting him there) and the things that his campaign party did, to ensure his seal as the front runner. Whether it was known to him or not.
It made you wonder about what we REALLY know about our future president or about what is going on behind the scenes with or without his knowledge.

Once again, it's FICTIONAL, but the greatest thing is. . . . . . . . . it get' s you thinking about what's REALLY going on as opposed to what we see due to sensorship or . . . . worse.

Check it out, it's a good read.

I owe it all to Amy

my dear friend. Amy. For she has hooked me on to several sites, this being one of them. If you don't know about Post Secret, then you must check it out. Real people send these anonymous, homemade postcards in and every Sunday he posts new ones. Some are disturbing and some are happy, but either way, each one will touch you in some way or another. I recommend checking this site out every Sunday. I often find myself appreciating my life alot more after reading some of these cards.

Excuse me, you'll have to check that in with the rest of your luggage

This picture was on the front page of the Register Guard Sports section this morning. Imagine opening up to the sports section, with a 6in x 6in spread of THIS staring you in the face. I'm torn. Do I laugh or do I hurl? Or do I bask in the glory that is . . . . . :)

Not Fair!

This is Michael Clay. He is a 59 yr old Eugene resident. On June 9th, he was walking home late at night, when 2 teen boys beat the crap out of him, for no apparent reason; not even to rob him.

The Register Guard states: "He said he never lost consciousness during the attack, which he said began when one of the youths rode up on a bicycle, flipped it around to block Clay’s path, and asked for a cigarette. Clay said he inserted a walking stick he uses because of a bad knee into the bike’s spokes to prevent the wheel from striking him, and told the teens that he didn’t have any cigarettes.
“If they’d have waited 30 seconds, they would have had a $1 cigar, because I did carry those,” he recounted. Instead, he felt the first of two blows from a baseball bat the other teen was carrying, and the youths hurried away."

That attack left Clay with brain and skull injury. He has several teeth that are 'wobbly' b/c of the injuries.

The 2 boys have been in jail since 3 days after the incident happened, thanks to Clay's neighbor's.

"He credits his neighbors with looking out for him since the attack — getting him to the hospital, getting word of the attack out on the street so a citizen’s tip could help police arrest the teens three days later."

The 2 boys, Alex Lee Swegle, 19, and Joseph Anthony George, 17, plead guilty last week to second degree assault charges. They received 70 months with early release based on good behavior as early for 14 months.

Michael Clay is THIS close to becoming homeless b/c he can't afford to pay his bills since his injuries while he's recuperating. The community has banded together to start a fund at the local community credit union and the boys were ordered to each pay half his medical bills.

SO- the question is: Was their punishment fit for the crime? They could possibly walk out of prison in a little over a year. Clay will still be dealing with the dizzy spells he get's due to his brain and skull injury in years to come. They could be free to roam in a little over a year. Michael Clay could possibly be homeless 14 months from now. His injuries are going to affect him for the rest of his life.
I think that their punishment is completely unfair. I think that they should be responsible for ALL his medical bills and also pay for his housing. I mean, if THEY didn't BEAT HIM, then HE WOULDN'T be in this situation! I mean, this man is deciding between what treatments he can get based upon the money that he doesn't have to pay for it! He more than likely will not get any repair work b/c he cannot afford it!
Clay said, "“I went to the optometrist and he said my (right) eye’s 20 degrees off to the side and 15 degrees down,” he said. “Everybody’s talking about all this reconstruction, but nobody’s doing it without getting paid. And the question is, do I spend that much money on myself at this point in my life?”
How fair is it that in a couple of years, these teens will be released and have the opportunity to live their lives with perfect sight, a strong jaw and no dizzy spells or brain damage.
I say, give 'em what they deserve. Take them down a dark alley and beat them up with baseball bats and then take them to jail and let them not got any proper treatments to heal themselves correctly and THAN live with that for the rest of THEIR lives!
